iAspire2 CIC – Healthy Happy Holidays (HAF) Programme
iAspire2 CIC delivers exciting, inclusive and high-quality Healthy Happy Holidays (HAF) programmes during the Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays, providing children and young people with safe, engaging and enriching experiences while schools are closed.
Working in partnership with HMP Not-4-Me, our holiday camps combine education, physical activity, creativity and fun, ensuring every child has the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience, friendships and life skills in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Our programmes are delivered from Alverthorpe St Paul's CE (VA) School and Thornes Juniors FC, in conjunction with TOTS Coaching, providing accessible community venues where children can enjoy a wide range of exciting activities.
Each holiday programme offers an extensive programme of activities including sport, team challenges, arts and crafts, cooking, outdoor adventures, inflatables, soft play, animal encounters, educational workshops, enterprise activities, healthy lifestyle sessions and visits from partner organisations. Every eligible child also receives a nutritious meal as part of the national HAF programme.
Our camps are inclusive and welcoming, supporting children from a wide range of backgrounds, including those receiving benefits-related free school meals. We place a strong emphasis on physical wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, healthy eating, confidence building and positive experiences, helping children stay active, engaged and connected throughout the school holidays.
The Healthy Happy Holidays programme forms part of Wakefield's wider Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) initiative, funded by the Department for Education, helping ensure children have access to enriching activities, healthy food and memorable experiences throughout the school holidays.
Parents consistently praise our HAF camps for the wide variety of activities, friendly and experienced staff, safe environment, healthy meals and the positive impact the programme has on their children's confidence, wellbeing and enjoyment during the school holidays.

iAspire2 CIC – Detached Youth Work Programme
iAspire2 CIC delivers weekly Detached Youth Work and a Mobile Youth Club at Thornes Park, funded through Wakefield Council's Open Access programme. Rather than expecting young people to attend a traditional youth club, we take our services directly into the community, meeting young people where they naturally gather. Our approachable and experienced team builds trusted relationships through informal conversations, positive activities and practical support, creating a safe space where young people can seek advice, develop confidence and access opportunities in a relaxed environment.
Our Mobile Youth Club provides much more than games and activities. Young people have access to free healthy food and refreshments, first aid, bike maintenance equipment, safety advice and information on careers, education and future opportunities. Interactive activities include sports challenges, team games, crime prevention workshops, replica prison cell experiences, alcohol impairment goggles, knife crime awareness and visits from partner organisations such as the Police and Fire Service. We believe that informed young people make better decisions, so we provide honest, engaging and non-judgemental guidance that empowers them to make positive choices for themselves.
The impact of our detached youth work extends far beyond organised activities. Our regular presence has helped prevent thefts, de-escalate conflict, stop incidents of bullying, provide reassurance to vulnerable young people and support those who simply need someone to talk to. We have supplied safety equipment, including cycle helmets and bike maintenance items, treated minor injuries, celebrated young people's achievements and encouraged aspirations through conversations about education, employment and entrepreneurship. Working alongside valued partners including Wakefield Street Kitchen, Warburtons and local volunteers, our Detached Youth Work has become a trusted and recognised community resource, bringing together agencies, families and young people to create safer neighbourhoods, stronger relationships and brighter futures.

iAspire2 CIC – Sport England Movement Fund
The Sport England Movement Project is a free community sports programme delivered by iAspire2 CIC and HMP Not-4-Me at Agbrigg Park, designed to encourage children and young people aged 8–16 to become more active, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and develop positive relationships through sport. Delivered by qualified sports coaches, the weekly sessions provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where every young person, regardless of ability or experience, has the opportunity to participate, learn and enjoy being active.
Each session focuses on developing football skills, teamwork, communication and confidence through fun drills, small-sided games and challenges. We encourage positive play, respect and sportsmanship, with activities designed to ensure everyone is involved. The emphasis is not simply on winning, but on learning, working together and enjoying the benefits of regular physical activity. It has been particularly rewarding to see players complete long passing sequences during matches, demonstrating the teamwork and decision-making skills they have developed through the programme.
The project has been a fantastic success, with attendance regularly ranging between 12 and 32 young people each Saturday. Alongside improving health and wellbeing, the sessions help strengthen community connections, create new friendships and provide positive opportunities for young people to spend their weekends in a safe and supportive environment. Several participants have shown the ability and potential to progress into local grassroots football clubs, demonstrating how the project is helping to develop future sporting talent as well as confidence and aspiration.
The programme is further enhanced through the support of community partners, including Wakefield Street Kitchen, who kindly provide refreshments for participants. By removing barriers to participation and creating an enjoyable, high-quality sporting experience, the Sport England Movement Project continues to inspire young people to lead healthier, more active lifestyles while building stronger, safer and more connected communities.
